The goal of having a missions conference is to bring awareness to the call that God has placed on every Christian's life to be used for the purpose of building God's kingdom.  And one of those ways is by supporting both prayerfully and financially, missionaries who go to different parts of the world to spread the gospel, while we endeavor to do the same right here in Mesquite, Texas!  And so we ask everyone at Cornerstone to prayerfully ask God what He would want you to give financially to help support these missionaries so they can go to where God has called them to spread the gospel.

Now this not only helps the missionaries, but it also develops and grows our faith in God.  We all put our faith in something, and far too often we put our faith in our money instead of God.  So this tool of Faith Promise Missions, can be used to help us grow our faith in God instead of our money, and here's how it works.  You ask God how much of your money He would like for you to invest in sending the gospel to different parts of the world through the missionaries we support.  And that amount is going to be way more than you have available in your budget to give.  And so you make a promise to God, that if He provides the money that you feel He wants you to commit to give, that you will give it.  And what has happened in my life, is that God has provided in previously unseen ways to cover the commitment that I promised to give if God would provide.  And I see God work in ways that are miraculous to me, and my faith in God grows as a result!  That's how it works...because our faith in God will never grow if we never stretch ourselves to a point that God actually has to work in our lives to make our commitments happen.

So if you want to see your faith in God grow, make a commitment to God that actually will require you to take a step of faith!  Too often we only make commitments that require no faith for us to fulfill them, and so our faith never grows.  So, as you pray and ask God what to give this year...allow your faith to be stretched and watch as God fulfills those commitments in ways you never dreamed possible!  Giving our money away is something that God asks us to do so that we can be a blessing to and meet the needs of those around us.  And it's one of those areas that He tells us to test Him in!  He challenges us to try to out-give Him!  Why?  Because He wants to bless those who are willing to give their resources away so that they will be able to continue to increase their blessing to those around them!  But far too many of us are unwilling to take this step because our faith is really still in our money to provide in our lives, instead of putting our faith in God to provide.

Now some of you won't be able to make it to our conference in person, so we have put a link up on our website for you to be able to make your commitments to missions this year electronically.  And remember, these commitments are between you and God and so we don't ask for your name and we won't be following up to collect on the commitments that are made...it's purely between you and God.  You can complete this form to make your Faith Promise Missions Commitment this year so that we can budget and know how many missionaries we can support this year:
